FWIW, I can't comment on the specific issue you both are discussing nor can I say that petabit is correct on this specific issue, but I can say, as a regular reader of the posts over there, that indeed he is a very knowledgeable person whose posts appear to be accurate (in as much as I can ascertain, which sometimes is difficult if not impossible given the inherent secrecy of this industry.)

Why don't you ask petabit directly? As a lawyer you know you should first qualify the witness.

My source worked for a Nortel competitor and claims that Nortel's use of a fiber pair to accomplish the same thing as the competition is part of its marketing strategy to inflate the numbers.

I really would like a straight answer from a reliable source. It is a 100% difference in performance.
