It becomes Bush's economy when his program is passed.

It is infuriating the deceptions Dems play. Clinton comes in during a booming economy and proclaims it "the worst in 50 years" and then tries to take credit.

Clinton leaves office with the economy and markets in sharp decline and then the Demheads blame the new Prez, who's been in office a matter of days - all the while the Demheads are fighting tooth and nail the plan that will bring recovery from the Clinton recession.

the numbers started going south before Bush became president.

True, but just before -- in December. Who gets the blame is a political reality and need not be based on facts. Factually, we're not even in a recession, just a sharp slowdown from a boom.

As I've said, I think the main blame should go to Greenspan, who fostered a credit induced bubble, with side blame to the Clinton Administration who faked many economic figures by the use of "hedonic chained dollars".
