If you're going to go vegetarian, my advice is that you find a few comfort foods that have some substance to them--things like chili, red beans and rice, eggplant parmesan with pasta. I wouldn't give up the dairy products right away. You can always do that later. The hardest thing I found about shifting to vegetarian is that the food just doesn't quite hit that spot and you're left unsatisfied no matter how much you eat. I think it's important to find some foods that satisfy you physically and psychologically. A little cheese sauce does wonders for your sense of satisfaction. Once you get your rhythm you can become more disciplined.

And get a big bottle of really good olive oil.
