There are so many stories of stock scams past. My favorite from the SI era was Bre-X, it had this incredible aura of international intrigue before it all blew up. A big goldfield in Borneo, supposedly, with tiny Bre-X trying to save its "discovery" from being stolen by gold giant Barrick. High people in the Indonesian government were involved, along with GHWB and James Baker, on opposite sides, at one point. You can guess the punch line.

Another one I had some very peripheral knowledge of was RMIL, which, if you read the header on Subject 17303 , had scam written all over it. Somebody I was vaguely acquainted with supposedly violated SI's privacy TOU on some pumpers on that one. SI's privacy TOU, like SI's TOU in general, is a joke, but that's another story.

Strangely, following the profile of the creator of the RMIL thread above leads me up to contemporary matters with AZNT, see Subject 15664 and Message 15434055 . There's no doubt a lot of money can be made on the greater sucker theory, but caution is advised.
