While it might be a good time to buy this stock from a valuation point of view, I would hope people don't buy the stock based on overly optimistic hopes about this past qtr.

I don't have concrete numbers on Q3 but Palm's total revenue guidance was $465M to $490M. Given that international sales are a significant percentage of total sales, there is no possible way that Palm's Q3 sales are $600M and no way that the US retail channels are $400M, with direct, INTL and other revenue streams making it even higher.

All the data on this thread leaves out international which means that all the data we've seen on this thread is not even close to accurate. These optimistic models need to be scrubbed.

Given the economy over the past 3 months, I wouldn't be surprised to see Palm miss estimates slightly (meaning: not hitting the high end of the target). However, I do think they will hit the high end and just a bit over. Any more than that may be a stretch. There is also no reason to report anything wildly above that level since they will be taking large rebate charges next quarter - if they are going to kill numbers, I'm sure they would want to take some of these charges this qtr.
