I like a wheel gun and keep 3 of them loaded and tucked away.

I got a side by side sawed off 3" 12gauge from a guy who really shouldn't have had it and was anxious to get rid of it. $50. The gun had been shortened buy a gunsmith and not a hacksaw. I had a policeman friend run it and it was clean.

I was going to stuff it with 3" 000 buck but decided on 3" #2 Steel (soft iron) goose loads. At 20 feet #7 1/2 trap loads will tear a nasty hole. When I first had the triple buck in it I started thinking about all the wall damage.

Be very sure to lubricate your semi with some type of not evaporative lube.

I remember the time I grabbed my Kimber for a combat shoot after a winter off. The lack of humidity dried the slide rails.

I pulled back and the slide snapped 3/4 close. It would not go into battery. Had I needed it, it would have been as useful as a brick.
