and MOT refused

Thsi could be a negotiating tactic on MOT's part (vis-a-vis QCOM), but what a way to take care of your customer. So Nextel what choices does Nextel have? Let's see.

Cave in to MOT and wait. But for what, for MOT to have its own iDEN/1x chip? How long will that take? And how much further ahead will QCOM's end-user customers be by then? Maybe go out of business?

Ditch iDEN and go 1X. As someone suggested earlier they could give away the 1X phones, at least stripped down versions, if they had to.

I am sure there are other, maybe less extreme possibilities. Can anyone see them?
