You can't say that.

Many indicators - the most reliable ones - do say that we are in recession and have been for months. The best anyone can say for sure is that we won't know until after the fact.

Your timeline theory is interesting. The expansion that continued into Clinton's terms is properly understood as having begun in the early 1980's and having had an eight month decline in 1990-91. In March 1991 the economy began growing again. How you can credit Clinton with that is amazing.

We do know that Clinton left office with an extreme Bear Market that had gone on for months and an economy in steep decline.

The economy becomes Bush's after his program is passed, regardless of some silly "being there" theory that you maintain. Just as no one gave FDR the blame for what he inherited, no one should credit Clinton with the boom he inherited or Bush with the decline Clinton left.

Nadine....do you own any stocks...Look at the charts for 18 months...ANY stock.... Also maybe look up news releases on nearly any responsible news/opinion spot...You will see when the slowdown began....and it was last spring 2000...NOT to quote: a sharp slowdown began one month before Clinton left office

Do you work for the government or a union by any chance?
