Andreas: Do you have an idea why PC133 running as PC150 is as fast as PC1600 (PC200)?

Latency is a heck of a lot lower on PC150 CAS2. (PC1600's latency is equal to that of ordinary PC100.)

RE:"Wow, that's extremely impressive. Do you have an idea why PC133 running as PC150 is as fast as PC1600 (PC200)? "

Thanks but don't consider me as an OC-maniac. It's the first time I OC a computer (I say a computer because not only the CPU was OC but also the FSB, memory (cas2 instead of cas3) and voltage increased on PCI as required by GForce2 documentation and independent of OC consideration).

<politic>This is my very first Athon for ME, only ME. It's the 12th PC I bought for me since 1983 and 10 of them were Intel, 1 cirix and this Athlon. I have also help some people around me to buy during the pass 3 years 2 k6-III and 1 k6-2. And I bought for other 2 k6-2, 4 athlons (oops.. make it 5 because I cracked one last week testing an Alpha HSF). Yes I boycott Intel since Big Brother Inside and even if P4 has no PSN inside, Intel stay banned for past behaviour. </politic>

About PC133 running at 150 ... I'm sorry but I bought those Kingmax memory stick as PC150 CAS3 and from all piece I had to order, these one was pain in the *ss. They did not even accept credit card and performance was not better than the Infineon 256MB almost half-the-price.

For performance vs PC1600, fyodor_ gave an explanation that seem very credible for me.

I'm kind of slow installing the beast in a definitive manner. What I came to was to have 2 different mode of operation:
a) Very fast for game (accept a little noisy HSF here)
b) Very slow for most of the time (watching stock market for a living:-)

From all the HSF I have tested (4 up to now) I think the FOP38 is the good one for me provide I install a switch that change the speed of the HS fan. The KT7A won't accept to boot at more than 1 GHZ if the HS fan RPM is not higher than something like 5000. So this give a protection against overheat if I switch CPU speed from 1.1GHZ to 1.36 GHz while forgetting to increase HS fan.

From all computer I had, this Athlon RAID-0 is certainty the one that impressed me the most. The next one in my list was the Nec 486 66Mhz long time ago.

On mobile AMD Athlon 4 processors, AMD offers a technology called PowerNow! that controls your notebook computer's level of processor performance by dynamically adjusting its operating frequency and voltage according to the task at hand. At release, Windows XP Home and Professional Editions did not have the ability to take advantage of the AMD PowerNow! functionality. Laptop computers with the AMD Athlon 4 processor do not have the improved battery performance that is offered by the PowerNow! technology.
