true...interestingly, the Japanese banks also held out for a while after the bubble had burst...they only really got killed in the third leg down.

to be honest, i'm not even watching the consumer stocks...it's not an area that interests me much...too mundane. i agree though that the bear cycle tends to shoot the groups one by one...eventually even the 'defensive' stocks, like e.g. the utilities, will get creamed.

wasn't Fleck supposed to be on TV today? has anybody seen him?
