WC, And Mussolini got the trains to run on time. Be careful what you wish for, it may just happen. What we need is a second party with an alternative solution. There isn't only one way. As a progressive I look for the best from both parties. The Democrats are suffering post-Clinton fatigue. And just when the Republicans get complacent new ideas will erupt. Singapore is not a place I want the US to emulate. Mike

OT 1. I guess the 4 economic courses I took at MIT were lacking because I never came to your conclusion. Do you think it might be a personal failing? 2. What are economic freedoms? To buy and sell anything to and from anyone? Can we exercise these freedoms from jail, detention camps, concentration camps?

Who's a silly goose? I quote you below: "Think about this - If all of our freedoms were taken away but the economic ones what would we need of the rest? I am guessing this explains why Singapore is full of happy people under a fairly oppressive regime to our way of thinking. What do they care that they can't criticize the government so long as they have their economic freedoms?"
