aside from the fact that a great deal of the information is quite useless, the day still has only 24 hours. the information on the internet is only useful inasmuch as humans can access and process it...and that takes time...doesn't matter how fast the information flows, or how much of it there is....it still takes the same amount of time to read and assimilate a page as it took before.

In many cases, the info transfered, has also been transformed, and is being accessed and processed by software.

I'm not talking about reading a book here. I'm talking about things like manufacturing applications, administrative applications, etc, etc. Information IS getting processed faster over the internet.

How this affects the market? That's a different subject.

Heh, heh....I remember that *debate* with Gilder over on his thread..Gilder is quite the techno geek & now certainly seems to be a *paid* touter, he couldn't quite grasp how his telecosm companies should rationally fit in the marketplace.....I believe that was the day that I people marked you Heinz....and I heard the siren song of the bear....just followed the bread crumbs over to the old CFZ thread and then here.....<g>

he tried to impress me with the many tera-bytes of information that are apparently stored and moved on the internet...

I wonder if ol' Georgie knows that one of the lesser-known porno sites generates three times as much web traffic as all of yahoo.com. this article from the local weekly a year ago or so is a real hoot.
