Ish, From some other things I have read since reading that book, there are speculations that Custer acted rashly in attacking the village before he was supposed to. It has been told that he virtually lost the battle at the village, and he and his troop was finished off on the hill where they had fled to. Some have said that there was animosity between he and Reno and that there could have been some foul play involved in the whole thing. One thing for sure, Reno, and Benteen, were not where they were supposed to be at the proper time, leaving Custer trapped and undermanned. That is not to mention the fact that Custer was flamboyant, and reckless, to a fault.
