meanwhile, back at the ranch... ...the animals were all getting sick, dying. Apparently, Mad Cow Disease was just a warning shot across the bow: this new outbreak of Hoof & Mouth Disease has already become an inter-continental pandemic of quite epic proportions. We're facing the imminent deaths of millions of animals, Dudes! Animal rights groups are projecting that over 6 million animals will be destroyed worldwide between '00 and '02: this thing is already an "animal holocaust". It's not just Europe, either: Argentina is infected, too. It's not just mad cows anymore ~ now we're talking sheep, pigs, poultry and dairy products :-/ From Britain the outbreak has spread to Scotland and Ireland; trucks and autos rolling off the ferrys and trains from the UK on over to the Continent are now required to drive through an anti-viral treatment bath (!) Our puny attempts at Continental containment, modern biological warfare seem almost naive... ...certainly underscoring the impotence of Dubya's Maginot Line Mentality anti-missile defense ~ helplessly orbiting above us, ready for the Cold War but, unable to do anything about the clear and present danger of BioWar below. wow man, this shit is starting to freak me out ! ...'scuse me, I gotta go take Tommy-G's advice, go roll something, or something ~ try to chill you know? jeez! -Steve
