Re: I thought Bapco was owned by Intel

Just how they are supported isn't perfectly clear. Their address has been reported to be in an Intel building. Whatever else may be the case, they certainly aren't going to go out of their way to put Intel in a bad light (not and stay out of the rain).

A non-profit consortium, BAPCo's charter is to develop and distribute a set of objective performance benchmarks based on popular/personal computer applications and industry standard operating systems. BAPCo’s current members include: Adaptec (www.adaptec.com); Amdahl Corporation (www.amdahl.com); Compaq (www.compaq.com) ; Dell (www.dell.com); Federal Computer Week (www.fcw.com); Hewlett-Packard (www.hp.com); IBM (www.ibm.com); InfoWorld (www.infoworld.com); Intel (www.intel.com); Microsoft (www.microsoft.com) ; NEC (www.nec.com); and VNU Business Publications Limited (UK) (www.vnu.co.uk).
