Ted,

The airlines are on strike, military planes are dropping out of the sky, the middle east is falling apart, we are sinking Japanese tourist boats, earthquakes and killer storms, the coldest winter on record, recession, the stock market is crashing, we are bombing Iraq and pissing off our friends, the food supply in Europe is collapsing, foot in mouth and BSD soon to be in the US. St. Patty's day cancelled in Dublin.

All since W stole the presidency.

Kind of makes you wonder......

Ted Re..., its unlikely he would use his intellect to do good in one area of his professional life and then rip people off in another area. <<<<<<<

Sometimes they are the same thing. To be a good salesman you quite often have to exaggerate the benefits while you neglect the bad. Used car salesman is a good example. Politics is very similar in that you tell people what they want to hear to get their vote, but politicians themselves vote on legislation according to the money. Politicians often vote on bills they know the president will veto, so they can please their constituents. Republican would vote for anti abortion bill and dems would vote against it, knowing the president would veto it, so that each side could please their special interest. But isn't that actually ripping people off, in that you are voting for something just to deceive your constituents. That is what politics is nowadays, a ripoff. A charade. Tell the people what they want to hear to get elected, but vote with the money, so you can run more negative adds for the next election.

<That's a very popular premise but I don't believe that.<<<<<<<

Do you even believe 2 +2 = 4. There is an old saying; Money corrupts absolutely. With politics dependency upon money, the question isn't whether there is corruption, the question is how much.

You are stretching...you have no evidence, just hearsay and your own supposition.,,,,,,,

Am I? you mean you haven't heard of Bill renting out bedrooms, the coffees, the Buddist temple, etc.

If he is as clever and as duplicitous as you claim, why would he stay in public service under the glare of public scrutiny.

Because he feels he is smarter than we are, and we couldn't possibly tie 2 + 2 together.

He would have to be asking for trouble.<<

And he got it. Haven't you heard, he is under a federal investigation by the NY southern district. There are rumors Denise rich is co-operating with the feds.

<<He is a victim but not in the way that he may have tried to convey. <<<<<<<

And just how would you know that? Did you call up the physic hot line. I don't care if you talked to Dionne Warrick herself, I am not about to believe that one.

Once again there is little if any discussion on this thread and for the most part in the press, regarding these pardons. Do you know the particulars of the two most controversial ones?<<<<<<

Sure, read to your hearts content.

I find insider trading to be a far more serious crime than playing with a cigar.<<<<<<<<<<<

What insider trading? Do you have proof? AFAIK the insider trading allegations were investigated and GW was given a clean bill of health. ON the other hand, if you believed in the politics are corrupt theory, then I might agree with you.
