PW,

I just turned down the monitor brightness, which was at a middle setting. It does seem more soothing.

As far as the refresh rate goes I've run into a snafu. The monitor claims to support 85hz rate at the resolution I'm using, but when I attempt to adjust this under Control Panel/Display/Adjustment (video card logo appears next to this button) the highest setting available is 76hz as compatible with my monitor. If I click on show all available refresh rates it says I could damage the monitor and won't show any others. Maybe it's a video card limitation?

As for the Rainy Day scheme, I think I need to wear rose colored glasses to endure it.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Esteban
