I normally don't agree with Cheeky, but I agree with his comments about many new short-sellers getting crushed. I attended the On-Line Trading Expo last month, and all I heard people talking about was how to short-sell. Without question they will over-allocate and short the wrong stocks right near the bottom, a complete reversal of this time last year. I have made a bundle shorting over the last three years, but I am not finding much to short nowadays, aside from the occasional scummy OTC stock (thanks for BIOP A@P)
