Jmootx: Japan & Korea had a recession. In those countries their large Caps had a harder time to pull out of a recession. The reason was all volume based be it sales,litigation, Pensions etc.

As institutions are basically large Cap oriented I agree that these stocks will be the centres of speculation till earnings are announced. Once any shortfalls are exposed, it is likely that the Midcaps of the sector with better earnings will prevail. Some Analysts expect the mid-caps to outperform.

I dont think the Midcaps will move until the leaders are fully played out thru one Q.. How do you see it.?
