Lakers,

<< The problems facing 1x/1xev are much less than their WCDMA/GPRS conterpart. >>

Perhaps.

1x/1xev in an ANSI-41 environment, however, is not at all the same thing as 1XeV-DO or DV (not yet standardized) in a GPRS (MC-MAP) environment, and particularly if we are talking existing spectrum.

I would sure like to see this standardized, particularly if both 3GPP's are involved, but this is by no means, a quick, down and dirty, near term solution.

<< In 1x we are talking about lack of software for more sophisticated applications. However the promised capacity and speed are pretty much in line. >>

1x? there are too many 1x's. <g>

Are you talking about 1xRTT that is in a commercial trial environment? Or are you talking about 1xEV which is in pure trial environment.

If 1xRTT what are we expecting for typical user rates (downlink and uplink) in a full commercial deployment with lets say the MSM5105 (as opposed to the MSM5100)?
