I know, I did put a "-g-" after it. I actually concur with most of your views. I just also think that Biotech is a mine field where there will be amazing, wonderful and profitable break throughs but for everyone that makes it, there will be 20 or 100 that never pan out and that may be being overly optimistic. I equate it to the early days of any new technology, internets, PCs, storage etc. Hundreds or thousands always start out but as the technology evolves quickly only a few end up surviving. It takes years even under the accelerated guidelines to take a new discovery through the trial process and then get it to market.

Fortunes will be made in Biotech but it is almost akin to picking the winning lottery numbers with so many choices and low odds. Even if you are correct in your picks, how much could you make on the money you have tied up in them trading the short term moves in other stuff while you sit on a Biuotech stock waiting for phase 3 trials to end and all the regulatory stuff to clear so they can actually sell something? Hey, I could be wrong and the Buffet style of investing might be good for these. I just like shorter term stuff. Anything I want long term, I have to at least be able to sell LEAPs against so all my cash isn't tied up but that is just me. Most small Biotechs don't have LEAPs so I tend to shy away.

Good Luck,

Lee
