Glenn, I think you've got this attitude of shorting a company all wrong.
You make it sound like to short a company there has be something wrong or bad about it.
A savvy short-seller typically does not look for 1 individual stock to short, but looks for a sector that he believes will be under selling pressure.
There might be 'great companies' in that sector, but that doesn't mean they're not going to get whacked too!
I think the biggest myth a long-buyer has about a short-seller is they only short companies they do not like.
That is not true!

A short squeeze is not like an earthquake. If you do your DD 95% of the time you can see one coming. That I learned from Amazon back in 98, when I didn't know what a short squeeze was. I assume you didn't either?
