I hope SI does not shut down. I do not have time to get on that often (job plus young kids) and do not pretend to be the most knowledgeable investor. I usually monitor when I know that I have some extra money coming in the next couple of months to see what investing ideas are out and then look into them on my own. I was just transferred from New Jersey to North Carolina and will now finally have more investing money. It would be bad timing to lose SI.

Thanks for your posts. I have made money through some of your ideas and also learned about the market. I cannot watch the market during the day and am skittish about shorting for that reason. I had some slow times in an office job in 1998 and made decent change shorting some of your recommendations such as DBCC and IMON but cannot track consistently enough to stay with the risk of -1000%. Longs have been punished this year and that included me. I am still up over what I would have had in the bank since I started investing so it is not all bad. If I knew more about valuations and momentum, I would probably feel more comfortable with shorting. I will hopefully have the time to learn in the next few years. I feel that I have learned some lessons that will help for when I have enough money to watch the dollars rather than the percents in my portfolio.

I would pay it to avoid the crap on raging baloney or yahooligoney

That is exactly why I'm on SI. . . $5 - $10 /mo. would be OK with me.

I think people would be willing to pay 2 or 5 dollars a month to pst . . .

What do you mean by 'pst'? . . . Did you leave out the 'o' for 'post' or is 'pst' the name of something?

Thank you,
Joe
