semiconeng,

---Right, by then it was too late for them to turn it around. If their AMD products had been selling so well, they would have been able to sustain themselves through the shortages. I see they were not

Gateway did ok during Intel shortages, since they had enough product while their competitors did not.

Go with AMD trumpet it all over the media, and rub intel's nose in it..... Good strategy...... Not.

Rub nose in it? I thought it was common knowledge that Intel had some massive problems delivering Coppermine chips in the right quantities and the right bin splits. It caused Gateway to miss their estimates. Now they are back with Intel and facing an even worse situation.

---You show a 1 day chart and expect that to prove your point. Yeah Joe, I can see that you're a real "Wall Street Wiz".

I showed you 6 month chart which coincided with Gateway promoting Intel chips heavily (after Intel was able to catch up and deliver sufficient quantities of product to them)

---It's not news to anybody that the High Technology and computer industry is having bad times.

Ok. I can accept that. But that's quite a different statement from your original one that Gateway fell flat on their face because they sell Athlon based machines.
