So you think it was acceptable for Intel to supply Compaq and Dell in preference to Gateway simply because Gateway complained and bought AMD processors when the higher MHz P3s were in short supply?

Bought: OK, Complained Publicly: Not OK. People (and businesses), will always have a tendency to favor those they like. I'm sure that you yourself treat people who are nice to you, better, than those that publicly bad mouth you. That's reality. I didn't say it was "acceptable", but I THINK (Did ya catch that Bill...THINK), that's what happened.

It's a free country, Anybody can say what they want, as long as they realize the potential (Hey Bill...... POTENTIAL) consequences of their words.

I'm sure intel heard PLENTY from Dell about it. The difference is, Dell muted their complaining to the media, Gateway trumpeted it. Big Difference.
