Hi Joan,

I may have some dated notions of the grain market, granted. I was fascinated by it in the mid '80's but moved on after that. "Merchants of Grain" is the last book I've read on the subject and its discussion of Continental Grain is now moot, of course.

Since you have a direct line to the producers, I'm wondering what you are hearing about the cost of inputs, especially ammonia and diesel, for this season. I really do see a pinch point here, but maybe I'm deluding myself that it will have a material impact on production numbers for spring wheat, beans and corn this harvest season.

BTW, thanks for the discussion of what must be one of the more unusual topics at SI. <smile>
