An apt description and unavoidable conclusion, mr. mark. It seems to me that it has become common practice all over SI. I think it is the unfortunate inevitable consequence of bad decisions made a couple of years ago to sacrifice site integrity in search of short-term gain. As a result, touts and shills were allowed free rein to make and break the rules as they hyped themselves, their private ventures, and were allowed to heap abuse on any and all who dared question their motives or positions.

I used to live in the Beacon Hotel (Bwy & 73rd) and on several occasions Chris Farley, the late fat POS from SNL would stumble out of the China Club at about 3 in the morning. (it used to be in the building) He was always wasted when I saw him and he would proceed to toss his guts all over the street. Man it was noisy - one time he passed out face down in his...(posting)...an associate suggested to me that he must be dead. But no, his friends hailed a cab and tossed him in the back seat. ...his great acting career continued...playing a fat obnoxious drunk week after week.
