DO....I agree with you....I have had my fingers nibbled down by easing into the likes of GLW TXN etc....my stops were cleared through.
The thought of these stocks in the 20's (or possibly below) makes my blood run cold for the near-term prospects of our general economy.
You wrote that you were looking to buy these types in the next month 10-25% below their current values, but that puts us right into the tax madness....are you thinking on a LT bottom around tax time with these types becoming summer holds? I'm still a bit nervous on any near-term prospects.

I'm just glad the construction world, and mine in particular, are hummming right along....for now.

Wes

In addition to what you're saying, even if a stock just drops "somewhat" lower, the days of impressive short term gains usually erasing mistiming like that seem to be behind us for a while.

I find it interesting how erroneous conventional wisdom has been going into this correction.

Was there *anyone* predicting orderly selling, selling, and more selling? That when the wind would start to change, one would have time to notice and get at out at one's leisure, provided they didn't take all year about it? All I recall was fud about the Big Kahuna market crash that would wipe everyone out in one trading day!

In that sense the foaming at the mouth contrarians were as useless and wrong as the permabulls.

It's solidified my opinion that I've been on the right track to be patient and not try and trade every day (which I can't be permanently logged in to do anyhow.)
