Sharck: The magnitude of Oracle's miss was not that bad -- it was their "forward guidance" and complete lack of visibility (haven't we heard this before?) over the next two quarters that resulted in its 20% haircut. ORCL is saying what every tech company is saying -- business is dead for the next 3-6 months. Without any visible earnings, current P/E's are meaningless. Until the first two of AG's rate cuts begins to work its way into the market(September or October) businesses will not begin spending again for IT, new orders, upgrades, etc.

My point: even if we are near a bottom (and I am not convinced that we are), there is no impetus for recovery in the near-term. Unless NASDAQ gets to EXTREMELY oversold levels (IMO, 1600 or under), I do not see a "V"-bounce from the bottom.
