That's always the rub- how much harm do you cause in order to avoid harm? Killing the fishermen who mutilate the fish and don't care is probably out of the question, but if I were a really big fish it wouldn't be. If I were a really big fish, with a certain level of intelligence, I would certainly kill the fisherman. That is the lovely paybacks are a bitch element in some of the sci fi movies- nasty human kills itty bitty alien, then the Alien's mommy shows up and kills the nasty human. I think I'd like it if every once and a while a fisherman who was being cruel to the fish got eaten by one of them. But I like poetic justice. I suppose a big blob of tofu should come eat me.
