I found that the lag time increased when I went to IE 5.5.

Frank,

The downloads are perfectly acceptable. My question was more along the lines of the delay I experience when I change the URL address. There are times when it takes several seconds for the URL to load.

Some of this may be due to slow servers, and some due to the number of hops. What else would cause this? When I upgraded from a 56K modem to a cable modem I fully expected instantaneous pop up of URL's.
