(AMCC) (Nasdaq:AMCC - news), a leader in high-bandwidth silicon connectivity solutions for the world's optical networks, today moved the Andover-based Digital Products Group to an expanded office site, also in the Andover area. Offering more than three times the square footage of the original 200 Brickstone Square location, the new complex provides 72,000 square feet of office space, which enables the group to expand to up to 300 employees. The Andover Digital Products Group contributed $26.1M to AMCC's overall revenues during the last fiscal quarter (October to December, 2000), an increase of 112% over the previous fiscal quarter (July to September, 2000). ``This move is indicative of the continued rise in demand for digital chips used in optical communication systems that are critical to the Internet infrastructure, and our ability to consistently attract leading technical talent in the Boston area,'' said Ram Sudireddy, senior vice president of digital products for AMCC. ``In fact, we fully expect this trend to continue, and as such are preparing to outgrow this new location within the next 12 months; we are already searching for potential real estate sites that will enable us to break ground on a full campus for the Digital Products Group later this year.''
