levy, re: Strong Buy/ D Ratiing? ML does not have a "Strong Buy" rating, but it does have a "D" risk rating. You might think that a front page NY Times story might have had some proper fact-checking. IMO, ML risk ratings are essentially meaningless. I would bet that most people at ML, including the spokespersons, would have a hard time explaining the background, purpose, and implementation of the risk rating. Personally, I do not believe they should draw attention to the risk rating.
