I think they ARE that good but I'd much rather have that type of "control" at my fingertips and not someone elses :)

Here's a message I dug up:

Very purposely, we have not been sending you a lot of unsolicited mail. Unsolicited mail by definition borders closely to SPAM, which we hate with a passion (more later). However, it has been over a year since our last
correspondence, and we wanted to let you know the status of our site and where we are going in the future.

I would like to thank the hundreds of you that have sent me e-mail letting me know how much you enjoy the site. The most frequent question that I receive is, "When will you stop being a beta site?" The answer is, "Now." The primary purpose of this site is to test our software before we release it to the public. At various times during the past year MyRealBox has run on completely different platforms (Linux, Solaris, as well as NetWare). We are currently running on our latest revision of Novell Internet Messaging System (NIMS 2.6), uptime has been outstanding, and we have no plans for a major upgrade cycle in the immediate future. I hope that you get the opportunity to use some of the cool new features such as WAP (Wireless Access Protocol) with your mobile phone or PDA.

The next most frequently asked question is whether this site will stay around. My belief and opinion is that this site will be around for a long time. Novell has recently undertaken a rigorous review of our businesses. We are well funded for our next generation products currently in development, as well as being structured and funded for our exciting new next generation products targeted at the Application Service Provider (ASP) market. These far reaching initiatives and the proven value of this site on our development cycles assure our continuation of MyRealBox as far as I can see into the future.

As you may know, NIMS and MyRealBox have some of the most sophisticated anti-spamming technology in the industry. When we track down complaints, we invariably find that the offending spam did not originate from or route through our site. We still have problems with spammers either using a MyRealBox account as an "opt out" address, or modifying their headers to fraudulently claim that they originated at MyRealBox.

This hurts you in two ways: 1) It besmirches the reputation of your e-mail system. 2) When spammers blast their spam from another system using MyRealBox as a return address, it generates a lot of "reject" messages back to our real site, which slows the system down for everyone.

There is no real technical remedy for these forgeries and frauds. Novell has decided that the only way that we can bring this to a stop is via legal action. Novell's Security Department and Legal Department are fully mobilized in identifying and taking legal steps to curb this abuse. We have recently served papers on the first batch of offenders, and will see them in court this month. For ongoing details as these legal actions against spammer progress, please frequent www.nimsinfo.com. This site also provides statistics about uptime and usage of MyRealBox.

To current and potential spammers out there, consider this an additional warning on top of the legal terms and conditions clearly explained on our sign-up page. We have never and will never tolerate this kind of abuse.

A final thank you to our loyal users. For those of you that have been with us for a while, I hope that you can see how seriously we have taken your comments and suggestion in making major enhancements to our product.
