energyplay, thanks for the interesting comments. They prompted me to look at past semiconductor cycles again. Those for which I have charted data took less than a year to shift from peak to trough. What's more, the peak came at the END of a year. [only 3 cycles charted] So, if history repeats I would expect a semiconducctor shipments trough around 4Q01. History may NOT repeat, but the safest way to bet is that it will.[We were told years ago that semiconductor cycles were a thing of the past. HA!]
