Hijack,

If you are using Windows Media Player, use Tools|Options|Performance|Buffer
to prevent interruptions, increase buffer size. This may not solve the herky jerkies. But I'll bet your processor upgrade goes a long way to doing so.

Have you done a line test on the cable modem to see what your download speeds are? I average about 1Mbps here and it definitely remains a less than prime time experience. One site I use most week days is www.energynewslive.com. They have a webcast of energy news for about 12 minutes at the top of every hour. Very often, the video and audio portions of the signal get many seconds out of synch. Not really a problem because the info is all in the audio track.
