How about the cause of the deficits is that the government spends more than it collects?

That is exactly the same thing. The President has an obligation to submit a budget which keeps receipts and outlays in balance. Reagan was told by his own Budget Advisor that his budget was severely out of balance. Reagan chose to ignore Stockman, and we are now $5.7 trillion in the red.

The truth is right in front of you, if you are willing to see it.
