OK Daryll40.. You asked for it...What would you make as the "fair" tax be on $200,000 of income? If You want specific lets make it 40% at the Federal Level with no special exemptions. At the state level it will be from ZERO in Nevada to about 9% in New York Property Taxes are a wash because if you don't want to pay them... don't own property. Plus they vary so much from sate to state comparisons are meaningless. Liberals, in my experience, just want "MORE" to spend no matter how much. Come on lets be fair about it. Its Bush and the Republicans(and Rumsfeld) that want to spend hundreds of billions on a star wars missile defense plan that their own scientists say will not work and the Republicans admit they don't know who they will be defending against. Sounds like a lot of PORK for the Defense Department that no liberal wants any part of. As our country grows larger (polpulation wise) older, and more diverse different needs have been established that were not present before. So new Federal programs need to be established.Think of us as being rats in a large cage. The more the rats expand the population the difficult it is to maintain peace and order. So the more laws are needed to maintain the status quo. Some biologist could make meaningful comments here. Jerome
