OT-

<<...health care...is in total disarray at the present time.>>

I have read of some enthusiasm for pharmaceuticals as an investment in light of discussions about a Federal subsidy for prescriptions for the elderly that will increase access. Price controls and caps on profits will follow subsidies as surely as Spring follows Winter.

(Flying to DC tomorrow and it looks like Spring isn't following close enough)

>>I would suggest that health care, particularly health care delivery, of which managed care is a subset, is in total disarray at the present time.<<

I'll second that. Our organization is securing fewer and fewer hmo bids each round. Basically, the hmo says they are losing money and can't provide a competitive bid to continue on. So we lose more hmos each year and most of the remanding ones restrict the areas they will cover so fewer subscribers have access to hmo coverage and the hmos that stay do so at a higher cost.
