Prudential downgrades more than a dozen chip-stocks -- the section below is an excerpt from a longer market-analysis at biz.yahoo.com.

>>>"Prudential Securities downgraded 15 chip stocks this morning. The firm expects stocks in the sector to bottom out, not until the second or third quarters, ahead of the bottom in revenues for the sector, which it expects in the third or fourth. There is ``increasing evidence of a demand-driven slowdown/inventory correction that likely eliminates any near-term catalyst to move semiconductor stocks higher on a sustainable basis,'' said the team led by Hans Mosesmann.

Among those stocks downgraded to Hold are major names like Altera (ALTR), LSI Logic (LSI), Nvdia (NVDA) and Atmel (ATML). Still, some Strong Buy ratings remained including Texas Instruments (TXN), Xilinx (XLNX), and Micron Technology (MU)."<<<
