lynx -dump lynx -dump modem/logsdata.html >/tmp/tempfile interestingly enough the line works just fine. But as It works I did not catch the double lynx -dump. My guess is I typed in lynx -dump and then cut and pasted the entire line from an xterm. modem is defined locally in the hosts file as 192.168.100.1 the program is running and has successfully detected the change I'm concerned about. This is a random event and can totally screw up my connection to the internet with no warning. the program will not terminate after 6 hours. this is one program that will terminate in a long while or when..... tom watson tosiwmee
