Nixon had price and wage controls on while he was President. Obviously inflation was capped, by definition.

The price and wage controls started in 1971. They were a joke. They failed. By the time in question, that is 1977, they were largely gone except some industries.

This doesn;t change the fact that you claimed that Carter inherited double digit CPI and that you ridiculed Pete by saying that CPI was in double digits when Reagan took over, and you were wrong on both points.
