you can train an amoeba to exhibit simple reflexes. That doesn't tell us much, though, about the experience registered, and given the specialization we see in ourselves, it seems unlikely that it is "experience rich".....

So I take one brain cell from you (roughly the complexity of an amoeba) and I'm to discern, using your logic, that a collection of billions of these can do no more than that single cell? Really!

I'm trying to be patient, Neo, but here's the problem. You seem to attribute things to yourself (and humanity) as being unique but provide no mechanism or demonstration of the uniqueness. You simply "doubt" analogs yet somehow are intentionally obtuse (or argumentative) if they don't jibe with your beliefs. Analogs provide the cornerstones of a scientific understanding regarding the way things work. Nature is parsimonious in its solution set.

You believe things about yourself to be unique, but provide no data to support this belief. If it is a "core belief" (maybe it is a theological belief) and not founded on data, you should just say so. I'll never argue core beliefs of those types, but I will probably continue to tell you that your beliefs are unfounded or unlikely.

You have some pretty parochial notions about the nature of things. I recommend getting off the Barcalounger and taking a hike. Wade though a pond, walk through a forest, read some science books and figure out how stuff works - it'll change you. No one who does this can continue to be this anthropocentric.
