If and I say if, Cheney wants to quit his VP because of health problems, could we be looking at Christine or the lady who wasn't confirmed at Labor? Full vote now.

JLA,

I respectfully disagree with your assertion that selling pardons is illegal. However abhorrent and immoral to decent people, it is not yet illegal. The President has "the power to grant reprieves and pardons for crimes against the United States, except in cases of impeachment", to quote the Constitution.

This Clintonian illustration of "absolute power corrupts absolutely" might provide for Clinton's ultimate "Legacy"; if enough people defend his abuse of this power, we might get an Amendment passed that will control and prevent any future corruption of the power.

That would be poetic justice: a Constitutional Amendment removing one of the last "Royal" privileges of the President - "The Clinton Amendment".

Chas

There should be a full blown investigation, and Sen. Lott, should keep his mouth shut about dropping it..The whimp has done more harm than good.

Why the Republicans kept him on, is beyond me. He is afraid of his own shadow!
