Actually "He" gave you a free will, and left it up to "you" to determine your own purpose. You're not a robot and you were not designed to be an automaton. Meaning and purpose have nothing to do with the design. You don't need eyes to see you need vision, big difference but subtle enough that it is probably completely lost on you.

everything is just a great big ink blott, and we are free to ascribe any meaning or purpose to life that we wish. Yeah, that's how I see it. I don't want to see a dark, cruel world full of fear. I see individual connection and responsibility. But I may be deluding myself.
