What's missing from those Handspring CF modules is the fact that one needs an installed application to make the module function.

This means that if your Handspring crashes (like mine does every other month) you are screwed until you can hotsync and install the app again.

The original Handspring specs call for each module to have an app installed in ROM/Flash inside the module itself that automatically loads itself into the Visor upon insertion. It should load and work right off the bat. Unfortunately, the present CF adpators don't seem to follow the spec.

The current Handspring Backup Module does conform and will get you back up and running immediately you if you are out and about and you have a crash. The current CF modules won't. I look forward to the first CF module maker that DOES conform to the spec.
