John,

The Beatle's Helter-Skelter album inspired Charles Manson. Are you suggesting that.....?

John,

re: but I think the group who wrote the song lyrics that inspired this should be put in solitary confinement for the rest of their lives

So we should ban music?

Require waiting periods and background checks in order to buy music?

Perhaps allow people to buy only one CD a month?

Should we put safety locks on those CD's?

I think CD changers shouldn't be allowed to hold more than 10 CD's, let's ban the high capacity changers. Think about it, no one needs more than 10 hours of music at a time.

Is this starting to sound stupid?

Seriously, the music goes to motive or perhaps inspiration, I'm still real curious how this minor got the gun. If it was another negligent parent or did the kid steal the gun.

John said: Second, I agree he should be executed

Hm.. so the attitude now in the US is to execute teenagers?

Sorry.. I just dont agree with the death penalty on religious and moral grounds.. I dont think the state mandating legal murder is any better then the act of murder committed by an individual.. it lowers the state to the level of the peson who committed the heinous crime.

I wont go into the "possibility of a mistake in the justice system" in this case since its probably clear-cut.. but that is another reason I dont believe in it.. there have been several cases in Canada that many years later were found out was a miscarriage of justice.. the person would not have been around if a death penaltly had been legal in Canada. I view the death penalty as more of an act of vengance then justice... and I view it as having little to no deterrent effect... (I believe stats show capital crime actually has rose in the US after the death penalty was reinstated ... and conversely, it has dropped in Canada since it was abolished)

By the way.. did you know the US is the only Western Democracy in the world that has the death penalty on its law statutes.. you join such great countries of justice as China, Vietnam, Iran, Iraq, and countless other despot countries in Africa that use it.

I realize I wont change many peoples minds on here.. the death penalty is firmly entrenched in America justice.. it just was a little hard to look at all these calls for execution on here..
whats next? 10 yr olds getting put to death?
