If you ask my wife she would tell you that the engineering mentality is a curse. I have just helped to demonstrate that. I am reminded of a supposed quote from the Korean war. With an attack coming from the north an American general asked how many were coming in the attack. After much frustrating conversation a person of a practical mine answered - "a whole chit load". The general understood immediately. So, how much gas can we expect - the answer is easy - hopefully a "whole chitload"!
