And only about one-third expect the economy to improve during 2001. And most think it is a bad time to either invest in these markets or buy a house. The bulls are clearly the minority. So why am I thinking this is a great year to buy a house and pour some money into investments? With the high number of investment losses and layoffs, I would think that a proportionate amount of great properties will come available. And with interest rates on their way down, there is no pressure to lock-in mortgage rates anytime soon. . . . . . the longer the wait the lower the rate? And the growth companies that didn't miss earnings, that didn't warn and that are not cutting on their expansion plans. . . .yet still were beaten down with other techs. . . are looking mighty good. As are those who warned, yet still performed. . . especially those with real earnings. Nobody is going to want to buy the sizzle anytime soon, when the steak is selling for the price of a hot dog. And contrary to popular belief. . . .technology was not a fad. In fact, the internet was not a fad either. Money is most certainly being made on the internet. And many tech stocks and internet stocks WILL recover. . . and some will recover sharply. Remember that this is just the beginning of the technology revolution. If you have been blinded by the bear droppings, you may need to cleanse your eyes by considering where technology is headed. . . how many ways in which it will improve our lives. . . .how far it has yet to grow. . .and who will benefit most from it. . . and who will profit most from it. It is important that bulls keep the proper perspective and maintain an edge. I am bullish on the economy and I am quite bullish on this market here. . . especially the best-of-the-best tech stocks. I am not seeing bad news have as much of an effect on the markets. . . and good news is no longer being shrugged off as it was for so many months. By Friday of this week, we will have a large amount of economic indicators. . . and it will set up another prime opportunity for an inter-meeting rate cut. Speaking of which. . . . And happy 55th Anniversary to my parents. . . .who were married on a warm spring day, then walked down to the Isley Dairy and shared a banana-split. . . returning to find a party. . well, by 40's standards that meant they butchered a chicken and enjoyed a fancy dinner at home with close relatives. . . and the very young couple hadn't realized that their hotel could give away their reservations after a certain hour, so there they were running from hotel to hotel, finally getting a room by bribing the night clerk. The next day, they made a 3000 mile trek to Long Beach, CA. . .for what started as a honeymoon. . . turned into a stay that lasted a year. . . and a relationship that lasted a lifetime.
