A-Merry-Go-Round.

Ameritraders below 50%.
Why they should stop buying yesterday is anyone's guess. Looking at the buy/sells they are selling the stocks they bought higher a few days ago, but because volume was so low yesterday it is hard to apply too much faith to this all.

Two small bodied days in tech - lots of indecision - another and the probability of a reversal increases.

Tech:-
Stoch buy signals in SOX, but I am looking for SMH to close above 48 before I get involved in anything tech, especially against a trend this strong. Apart from semi's no signals in other tech sectors - for me.

Non-Tech:-
With the exception of the large caps OEX/SPX and financials it looks OK - LOL.
CYC may or may not break out (537/545 region) and TRAN looking healthier with a stoch buy signal.

Still too early for me. Everyone is either
i) Waiting for rally
ii) Waiting to sell the rally.

If anything is going to happen to the upside I think it will probably take some time still. Resistances for the OEX and SPX and BKX<895|900 region still look ominous.

Good luck all.

Rydex Total Assets Update for Tuesday, March 6th 2001

Regular Series:

SPX Long - NOVA 373.0 Million
SPX Short- URSA 232.3 Million

NDX Long - OTC 1,478 BILLION**near new 52 week low
NDX Short- Arktos 74.2 Million

XAU Precious Metals 54.0 Million
Banking 47.9 Million**4 month low
Biotechnology 420.0 Million
Money Market 1,341 BILLION

*******************************************
Dynamic Series (200% correlation)

SPX Long - TITAN 87.1 Million
SPX Short- TEMPEST 28.1 Million

NDX Long - VELOCITY 138.7 Million
NDX Short- VENTURE 31.6 Million

*********************************************

The most comforting case for Bulls today is the BKX. TA have nosedived as BKX has consolidated over the past few weeks. I will stick to my call BKX ought to run thru 898-902 by Weds close on its way to BKX 920 for starters later this week. If this materializes tomorrow we ought to see SPX follow and hit an intraday high of SPX 1,272...

Friday is a full moon and we are approaching a cycle low in gold and the XAU... If market does my bidding, I would like to move back into the XAU into further weakness after selling into strength in Rydex OTC...

In the Regular Series, I sold out of Rydex Precious Metals at a good profit at XAU 53.53 (RYPMX 19.90) and we are now at XAU 52.85 (RYPMX 19.37). But I switched into Rydex OTC (RYOCX 15.04)when NDX closed at 2,097 and we are still lower at NDX 1,976 (RYOCX 14.15).

In the Dynamic Series, I moved into the SPX Long TITAN at SPX 1,255.27 on Feb 21st (RYTNX 17.61). Today we closed at SPX 1,253.80 and up a few pennies at RYTNX 17.67.

I remain...

Regular Series: 100% Long NDX OTC
Dynamic Series: 100% Long SPX TITAN

Best Regards, J.T.
